8 Best Ten Thousand Alternatives in 2026

Ten Thousand is the men's training apparel brand, and its Interval Short now lists at $88 unlined and $98 lined (tenthousand.cc, 2026-10-16), while older reviews quote $68. Start with your reason for leaving, then compare the dated prices below.

If you are shopping for a Ten Thousand replacement, start with the reason. Sizing, a liner that moves, a look that reads too technical, seams and pockets are among the complaints we found.

Below, each brand's men's short is shown on its own basis (product, inseam, liner, price, date) next to Ten Thousand's Interval Short. These are listed prices, not a like-for-like ranking.

What Ten Thousand is good at, and why people leave

Ten Thousand has real fans. mysubscriptionaddiction (2025) called the brand "tough as nails."

The complaints we found are specific. On Trustpilot, one reviewer wrote in October 2025 that "the SIZING IS ABSOLUTELY ALL OVER THE BOARD." Another said in December 2025 that shorts were "way smaller than the sizing chart says" and the exchange was refused as "final sale."

On the liner, a May 2026 reviewer said the shorts "kept moving down the wasit line whoch caused bad chafing." Gear Patrol (2022) said the liner "can be prone to chafing over time." A November 2022 reviewer reported seams that "have come apart." A WeTried (2026) criticism in its Ten Thousand entry says the brand "looks technical. The fabric has visible texture and a slight sheen."

Treat the Trustpilot items as four reviews on a profile page showing 1.4 out of 5, not as a rate.

How we picked these brands

  • Men's training apparel. No footwear brands and no mass retailers.
  • Named by other lists or answers a reason for leaving. We looked at brands named in published alternatives lists and at brands that answer the complaints above.
  • A short we can price. Where possible we list a men's short by product, inseam, price and date. Rhone is the exception, noted in its entry.

1. Vuori

Vuori product
Vuori product

Vuori is known for soft everyday fabrics like DreamKnit and Performance Jogger. Its Kore Short Lined (7") was $78 on 2026-10-16, rated 4.77 across 26,556 reviews on Vuori's listing. It is a "Classic Fit" with "ease through the hips and thighs" and a built-in boxer brief liner.

Take Vuori if you like Ten Thousand's look but want a looser, softer short. Vuori labels the Kore for "Medium Intensity Workouts," so heavy lifters and runners wanting a snug technical short should look elsewhere. For more options in this vein, see our Vuori alternatives.

2. Rhone

Rhone sells polished performance clothing positioned for "Work. Travel. Golf. Dinner." according to ten10apparel. WeTried lists it as "Closest quality match to Vuori" and says its "fabrics are heavier and more polished."

We could not verify a Rhone short price. Third-party listings put tees at $88 to $138+ and WeTried puts joggers at $98 to $118. Rhone suits someone who wants a technical piece that also passes at the office. It is a poor fit for budget buyers. More in our Rhone alternatives guide.

3. Lululemon

Lululemon is known for the Align legging. Its Pace Breaker Lined Short (7") was $78 regular price on 2026-10-16, with an 86% recycled polyester shell and a "grid mesh liner with a supportive built-in pouch."

Pick it if you want a lined technical short from a large brand. Skip it if you want a small DTC brand, since Lululemon is a public company.

4. NOBULL

NOBULL product
NOBULL product

NOBULL makes minimalist, logo-free training gear and has absorbed Public Rec (publicrec.com now redirects to NOBULL). Its Training Short 8" (Unlined) was listed at $60 on 2026-10-16, though a "40% OFF Apparel" banner ran that day, so that may be a sale price. Brand copy says "Abrasion-resistant CORDURA® stands up to heavy lifts."

NOBULL fits lifters leaving over a built-in liner. If you want a lined short, this particular product is not it.

5. Gymshark

Gymshark product
Gymshark product

Gymshark was founded in 2012 by Ben Francis in Solihull, UK. Its Sport Hybrid 6" short was $54 on 2026-10-16, with an 80% polyester, 20% elastane fabric and a "slim fit."

Its listed price was the lowest of the shorts we priced, though products, inseams and sale states differ, so it may suit anyone leaving over cost who still wants a gym-specific cut. The product copy lists no liner. Browse more in brands like Gymshark.

6. Alo Yoga

Alo Yoga product
Alo Yoga product

Alo Yoga is known for the Airlift legging. Its 7" Repetition Short was $78 at full price on 2026-10-16, with some colorways marked down to $54. Brand copy calls it a "performance-woven short" with an elastic waistband and zip pockets. Alo's return policy accepts unworn items within 30 days.

Choose Alo for a dressier look than Ten Thousand's technical styling. On price, WeTried says that with Alo "you're paying a premium for the brand, not the construction."

7. Tracksmith

Tracksmith product
Tracksmith product

Tracksmith is a running brand, and its page calls the Session Shorts its "best-selling 5" running shorts." They were $85 lined (5") on 2026-10-16, in 92% polyester, 8% spandex with an "Italian-sourced internal liner" and UPF 50+.

It is the pick for runners wanting a lighter, running-first short. Lifters should pass, since the brand describes it as a running short. Its site banner read "Free Shipping on all orders $200+" on 2026-10-16.

8. Myles Apparel

Myles Apparel product
Myles Apparel product

Myles Apparel describes its Everyday Short as "lightweight enough for workouts and stylish enough to wear with a button down," with a "tailored fit." It was $68 in 6" or 8" on 2026-10-16. WeTried lists the brand as a "Minimalist alternative at lower prices" to Vuori.

It suits one short for the gym and the office. The product copy mentions no liner, and the return window is a 7-day trial, with no returns once tags are removed or the item is worn.

How to choose a Ten Thousand alternative

If sizing or exchanges burned you: compare return windows before price. Myles offers a 7-day trial, Alo says 30 days, Vuori lists "free returns on eligible items," and Gymshark lists 30 days on most US items. We did not verify Ten Thousand's own return terms. We found no third-party fit comparison between Ten Thousand and the brands here.

If the liner moved or chafed: go unlined with NOBULL, or try a different built-in liner: Vuori's boxer brief, Tracksmith's Italian liner or Lululemon's grid mesh.

If it looks too technical: Alo's 7" Repetition Short is a "performance-woven short," and Myles describes its Everyday Short as "stylish enough to wear with a button down."

If price is the reason: listed prices on 2026-10-16 were Gymshark $54, NOBULL $60, Myles $68, Vuori, Lululemon and Alo $78, and Tracksmith $85, against Ten Thousand's $88 to $98. Inseams and liners differ, so this is not a like-for-like ranking. For a wider view, see our best activewear brands.

Frequently asked questions

Is Ten Thousand worth it?

Gear Patrol and mysubscriptionaddiction praise its durability, though Trustpilot reviewers criticize it. Complaints we found center on sizing, the liner and seams. The Interval Short lists at $88 unlined or $98 lined as of 2026-10-16.

What is the closest alternative to the Interval Short?

WeTried calls Rhone the "Closest quality match to Vuori," which is a different comparison. Vuori's Kore Short Lined and Lululemon's Pace Breaker Lined are 7" shorts with built-in liners, like Ten Thousand's Interval Short 7" in its lined version.

Does Ten Thousand run small?

We can only report what reviewers wrote. One October 2025 Trustpilot reviewer called sizing "all over the board," and a December 2025 reviewer said shorts were "way smaller than the sizing chart says." That is a few reviews, not a verdict.

Which alternatives list return terms?

Alo gives 30 days on unworn items, Gymshark 30 days on most US items, and Vuori lists "free returns on eligible items." Myles offers a shorter 7-day trial.

Is Public Rec still sold?

publicrec.com redirects to a Public Rec collection on NOBULL's site.

Are there cheaper brands than Ten Thousand?

On 2026-10-16, Gymshark's Sport Hybrid 6" was $54, NOBULL's Training Short 8" was listed at $60, and Myles's Everyday Short was $68. Ten Thousand's Interval Short was $88 unlined.
