On the same basic tee, Pact costs $24 and the alternatives here run from $22 to $68. Subset is $22, Organic Basics is $24.50, MATE the Label lists GOTS, Regenerative Organic Certified Pima, The Climate Label and B Corp on its tee page, and Harvest & Mill describes its clothes as made in the USA. Pick by why you are leaving Pact.
Kotn's price could not be captured. Where a brand's closest tee is not a plain crew, we say so. If you are also weighing mainstream names, our DTC clothing brands guide covers a wider field.
Why shoppers look beyond Pact
Some shoppers rate it well. A Trustpilot reviewer, Christina Walker, calls the basics "solid, super soft and comfortable," and wetried.it lists "Good value for sustainable basics" among its pros. Ratings are split: Trustpilot shows 2.4 of 5 across 1,671 reviews, ComplaintsBoard shows 2.6 across 17, and wetried.it gives 4.0.
The complaints fall into a few groups:
- Sizing. One Trustpilot reviewer, Brandy Pennington, wrote that "many of the sizes were incorrect. Some items were labeled as medium but were clearly made for a much smaller frame."
- Construction. Emine on Trustpilot said that "within just two hours of wearing it, before it had even been washed, the seams came apart and the waistband ripped."
- Price and quality. A Reviewed reviewer found it "hard to justify paying $25 for a plain T-shirt." A long-time customer on ComplaintsBoard said "the cotton they sell now is an extremely cheap knit."
How we picked these brands
- A tee we can price. Each brand sells a basic cotton tee, so a like-for-like price is checkable.
- Fibre and certification on the page. We report what the tee page or homepage says, and note when it says nothing.
- A real brand with a working site. Every brand sells direct on its own website.
- A spread of reasons to leave Pact. Price, certification, origin and fabric weight all get an option.

1. Organic Basics

Organic Basics is a Copenhagen-based Certified B Corp making underwear, activewear and everyday essentials in organic cotton and TENCEL. Its True Regular Fit Tee is $24.50, in 160 gsm organic cotton, and the page's structured data lists a GOTS certificate.
Take it if you want a price close to Pact's $24 and a tee whose page data lists a GOTS certificate. It is not the cheapest pick, since Subset's tee is $22.
2. MATE the Label

MATE the Label sells the Organic Pima Classic Tee at $68. The page lists Regenerative Organic Certified Pima cotton, GOTS, The Climate Label and B Corp, at 145 gsm and made in Peru.
That is nearly three times Pact's tee, so it suits shoppers who want these certifications and will pay for them. If price is why you are leaving Pact, look at Subset or Organic Basics instead.
3. Subset

Subset (formerly Knickey) makes underwear, bras and lounge in organic cotton, and its site describes the line as Fair Trade certified. Its Organic Cotton Classic Tee is $22, the lowest price we captured, in "pleasantly substantial 100% organic cotton jersey."
The tee page has no mention of GOTS (the GOTS claim is third-party, for underwear). Choose Subset if you want tees and underwear from one brand at a low price.
4. Quince

Quince offers "365-day easy returns" and a Men's 100% Organic Cotton Heavyweight Relaxed Fit Jersey Tee at $29.90, described as "thick, durable 100% organic cotton."
The page names no GOTS, Fair Trade or Oeko-Tex certification, so it is the pick for weight and a long return window rather than paperwork. If certification matters most, go to Organic Basics or MATE the Label.
5. Colorful Standard

Colorful Standard is a B Corp certified brand making organic cotton and recycled merino wool essentials in Portugal. Its Classic Organic Tee is $35, in 100% organic cotton with a relaxed fit.
The tee page does not mention GOTS. It suits shoppers who want garment-dyed colors in a plain organic tee and are happy to spend more than at Pact.
6. tentree

tentree says it plants 10 trees with every item and is a Vancouver-based B Corp with Climate Label certification. The Laurelwood T-Shirt is $30 and organic cotton, but it is an oversized cut, so it is not a perfect match for Pact's crewneck.
The page does not mention GOTS. Pick it if the tree-planting promise matters to you. Skip it if you want a classic crew, since this cut is oversized and most of tentree's other tees are $36 to $45 graphic tees.
7. Everlane

Everlane describes its products as "modern essentials" sold without traditional markups. Its Forever Jersey Oversized Tee is $38 in 100% Good Earth Cotton, which the brand calls climate-positive, regenerative and traceable. It is not labeled organic or GOTS.
Shein agreed to acquire Everlane, announced in May 2026, and Everlane's CEO said it will operate as an independent brand. It fits minimalist shoppers who care less about the organic label. If Everlane is the brand you actually miss, see our brands like Everlane page, and for more makers beyond basic tees, see our sustainable clothing brand guide.
8. Harvest & Mill

Harvest & Mill describes its clothes as "Grown, milled, designed & sewn in the USA." The brand says the cotton is USA-grown organic, with the yarn spun and knit in the USA and the garments sewn in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Its Organic V-Neck Tee is $54. We checked the V-neck today; the brand's homepage lists crew tees at the same price. Its homepage description mentions a "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed" promise. Choose it for US-made, not for savings.
9. Kotn

Kotn is designed in Canada and made in the Nile Delta from 100% Egyptian cotton, and it is a Certified B Corporation. The Men's Midweight Crew is "crafted from 250gsm Egyptian cotton."
Kotn's pages say 100% Egyptian cotton and do not call it organic. We could not capture a tee price because its storefront shows prices client-side in Canadian dollars. Take it for its 250gsm Egyptian cotton and its B Corp story, not for an organic label.
How to choose a Pact alternative
Match the brand to the reason you are leaving.
- If sizing frustrated you: no brand here is proven to fit better, and sizing complaints are not specific to Pact. Quince offers "365-day easy returns."
- If price is the issue: Subset ($22), Organic Basics ($24.50) and Quince ($29.90) are the three lowest-priced tees we captured (tentree's is $30), though Kotn's price was not captured.
- If you want certification: MATE the Label and Organic Basics state GOTS on a page we read, and Subset's site data describes its line as Fair Trade certified. Everlane and Kotn do not claim organic cotton.
- If you want US-made: Harvest & Mill.
- If you want heavier cotton: Kotn lists 250gsm, Organic Basics lists 160 gsm, MATE the Label lists 145 gsm, and Quince sells a heavyweight tee (no gsm given).
